My Background

My name is Dani and I'm a proud Anangu woman from the Pitjantjatjara tribe in the NT. Currently I'm creating my works on Latji latji country in Vic and art is my connection to home. I suffered a long history of domestic violence and have used my connection to home as a healing process. Each piece I paint connects me with my ancestors and brings their strength to me. I'm so blessed to do what I love and I hope you enjoy my works. Welcome

My Background

I work with acrylics on canvas and each piece is sealed to protect from dust and ageing. I create using traditional tools like a stick. Each dot is raised and has a textured surface because I do use tradional techniques.

My Inspiration

My inspiration for my work is my past, present and future. I love painting stories from the dreaming but I also love creating personal pieces for my clients.

My mum is my drive and inspiration every day. My mum passed in 2020 and I feel her watching me every day. All she ever wanted was for me to be happy and I know she is proud of every small step I take.

Last but not least, my amazing husband. He supports every move i make and takes every step with me. From the 4am starts on a sunday for markets, to sleeping with the light on so I can work 16 hour days, he is always supportive.
